Feature in The BMJ

The work of the PDT was published in The BMJ’s feature article on inquests, making the front cover.

Dr Georgia Richards was interviewed for the feature article on inquests published in The BMJ. The article highlighted quotes from this interview and the work of the Preventable Deaths Tracker.

Information collected by Richards’s Preventable Deaths Tracker shows that in the past 10 years, just over 40% (2040) of [PFDs] were related to hospital deaths that had resulted from clinical procedures or medical mismanagement.”

Richards, founder of the Preventable Deaths Tracker, would like the UK to follow the example of Australia and New Zealand’s National Coronial Information System, a database of information collected through the coronial system about deaths and used in real-time across government.

The article also made the front cover of the print version of The BMJ.
