Maternity

Live tracking of maternal deaths reported by coroners’

The Preventable Deaths Tracker’s searchable database and analytical tools were used to identify deaths of females that occurred during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, reported by coroners in Prevention of Future Deaths reports (PFDs) since 2013 in England and Wales.

This dashboard provides live statistics and trends on maternal deaths, updating in real time as coroners write to organisations to act.
