Meningococcal disease
Live tracker of deaths from meningococcal disease reported by coroners in England and Wales.
The Preventable Deaths Tracker’s machine-readable database and analytical tools were used to create live statistics on deaths from meningococcal disease reported by coroners in Prevention of Future Deaths (PFD) reports following inquests in England and Wales since July 2013, with updates in real time.
Cases were included if meningococcal disease, a serious bacterial infection caused by Neisseria Meningitidis, was reported as a medical cause of death or as a contributory factor by the coroner.
