Support us
The Preventable Deaths Tracker is run by a tiny team that has no sustainable or long-term funding. Can you support us?
The Preventable Deaths Tracker’s work is separated into two functions:
Tools & Tracking
The Preventable Deaths Tracker is owned and operated by Richello, including its intellectual property and copyright. Dr Georgia Richards is the Director of Richello.
After years of rejected research grants and no other sustainable financial support, Richello was established in 2022 out of necessity – to keep the Preventable Deaths Tracker running.
Subscriptions on Substack and database downloads help fund maintenance costs, including hosting, software, security, data infrastructure, and development updates.
A social enterprise is currently being established to improve its sustainability and further community benefit.
Research & Education
King’s College London employs Dr Georgia Richards as a Research Fellow to conduct research, awarding Dr Richards with a King’s Prize Fellowship.
Prior to this, all work was self-funded by Dr Richards and supported by teaching and supervising university students and its volunteers, including the Academic Advisory Board.
The NIHR SPCR awarded Dr Richards an Engagement and Dissemination grant and a Seedcorn grant to fund the first web design in 2020. NIHR SPCR also funded two Summer Interns. Dr Richards did not personally receive any of this funding, all were directly awarded to the University of Oxford.
The Preventable Deaths Tracker is solely the responsibility of Dr Richards and does not represent the views of NIHR SPCR or King’s College London.
